About:
Scott Hollingsworth did his undergraduate in Physics from Fall 2018 to Spring 2023. He joined the hydroacoustics lab (measurements side) in January of 2021. He is currently a PhD student at Washington University in St. Louis studying Medical Physics.
Scott really loves math, physics, and learning how the natural world works! In his free time he likes hiking, swimming, and watching movies with his wife Elsie.
Research:
Scott's research involved modeling sound propagation in the tank with BELLHOP and ORCA (ray tracing and normal mode models respectively). He also used Bayesian optimization to improve acoustic parameters of the acrylic bottom of the tank.
